Mrs. Pauline Thomas Clinard, a very special mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, 81, a resident of 624 Nance Dr. died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at High Point Regional Hospital. She was born on Dec. 29, 1925, in Davidson County to James Tom Thomas and Minnie Sink Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Homer Clinard on April 6, 2000, whom she married on Aug. 8, 1942. Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Black and Linda Parsons and her husband Jerry, both of Thomasville; a son, Jimmy Clinard and his wife Lynn of Thomasville; brother, Numa Thomas of Carrboro, N.C.; four grandchildren, Lori Newton and her husband Randy, Christie Smith and her husband Mark, Scott Parsons and his wife Wendy, and Jamie Clinard and his wife Crystal; and five great-grandchildren, Brittani Newton, Sydney Smith, Haley Parsons, Caleb Smith, and Travis Clinard. Funeral services was held on Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Robert Wiseman officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Mrs. Clinard remained at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. On-line condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com. *** Pearl Cole Mrs. Pearl Crotts Hill Cole, 99, of Thomasville passed away Dec., 23, 2007, at GrayBrier Nursing and Retirement Center. She was born Oct. 25, 1908 in Randolph County to Thomas and Roanna Loflin Crotts. Mrs. Cole was a homemaker and a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. The community of Hillsville was named for Mrs. Cole and her first husband, Carl S. Hill in 1948. After the death of Mr. Hill in 1975 Mrs. Hill married Roger R. Cole who preceded her in death in 2006. Surviving are a foster son, Robert A. Ledbetter and wife, Jaqueline of Trinity; a sister, Lily Ennis of Trinity; three brothers, Wayne Crotts, Roy Crotts and Reese Crotts, all of Trinity; two grandchildren, Reed Ledbetter and Van Ledbetter; and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale by the Reverend Brent Tysinger. Interment will be in Randolph Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Following the service the family will be at the residence of Reed and Karen Ledbetter, 3337 Heath Dairy Road, Thomasville. Born March 3, 1937, in Pensacola, Fla., had made her home in Thomasville since 1976, moving from Milton, Fla. Mendal Ray Henderson HIGH POINT — Mendal Ray Henderson, 54, of 235 Henderson Drive in Thomasville, formerly of 2102 Aileen Court, High Point, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point. He was the son of Julian and Betty Lee Nail Herderson of Thomasville. He was born on Dec. 17, 2007, in Thomasville of which he was a resident most of his life. Mendal was instrumental in founding an Organization called THP, the Triad Health Project. His involvement was a great accomplishment. He enjoyed working with flowers, interior decorating, and helping others. He is survived by his parents: Julian and Betty Nail Henderson; his sister: Julie Walls and husband Jerry of Thomasville; one neice: Tiffany Gordan of Thomasville; one nephew: Christopher Walls of Thomasville; and several great nieces and nephews. No services are planned for Mr. Henderson. Bobby Wade Porter LEXINGTON — Mr. Bobby Wade Porter, 70, of 1671 Old Hwy 109, Lexington, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born on May 21, 1937, to the late Terry Vestal and Minnie Christley Porter in Sparta, N.C. Bobby was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Thomasville. Bobby loved to be in his garden and enjoyed hunting as a young man. He was very active in his church and loved to work. Bobby wanted those lest behind to know, “If you’re looking for me, in heaven is where I’ll be.” Mr. Porter is survived by his wife: Glenda Jane Barker Porter of the home; his son: George Wayne Porter and wife Lora Jean of Thomasville; two daughters: Mary Lee Collins and husband Bobby Gene of Walnut Cove and Sylvia Burcham and husband Olen of Lexington; one brother: Clarence Porter of Thomasville; one sister: Helen Wilson of Danville, Va.; six grandchildren: Stacey Emmons, Kimberly Nobles, Ashley Burcham, Brittany Porter, Susan Stoltz, and Shannon Moore; ten great-grandchildren: Summer, Taylor, Tyler, April, Joshua, Dylan, Christian, Connor, Casey, and Courtney; and special family: Glenn and Laura Barker, Joe and Faye Meadows, Opal Barneycastle, Betty McDonald, and Jr. (Lou) Porter.
