LEXINGTON — Frank McKinley Akers, 79, of Walnut Cove Road in Lexington, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at Brian Center of Lexington.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Clyde Akers officiating.

Etta Allen
LEXINGTON — Etta Walser Allen, 91, of Allen Road in Lexington, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, in Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday from Tyro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Foster officiating. Interment will follow in Mock United Methodist Church in Davie County. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Maude Brooks
LEXINGTON — Mollie Maude Brooks, 89, of Lexington Health Care, formerly of Yadkin College Road, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2008, at the nursing home. Born July 4, 1918, in Monroe, Ga., she was married to James O. Brooks who preceded her in death.
Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Gary Foster officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home on Yadkin College Road. Memorials may be made to the American Children’s Home, P.O. Gary Burton
Gary Harold Burton, 63, of Thomasville, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at his residence. Born June 1, 1944, in Catawba County, N.C., he was formerly employed with Woodmark Originals and Henredon Furniture Inc. He also served his country in the N.C. National Guard as a medic.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday in J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Dawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.

Clara Mae Beck Gallimore
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, for Clara Mae Beck Gallimore. Clara, 81, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at the Thomasville Medical Center.
She was born May 2, 1926, in Davidson County to James Oscar and Betty Kepley Beck. On Oct. 17, 1942, she married her childhood sweetheart, Clarence Lee Gallimore. Clara was a loving and devoted wife to Clarence for 62 years until his death, Dec. 19, 2004. Clara was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
She took great delight in being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a retired employee of Thomasville Furniture Industries.
Clara is survived by her daughter, Brenda Wilson and her husband, Jackie of Denton; a son, Tony Gallimore and his wife, Brenda, of Thomasville; sister, Betty Lou Hilton of Thomasville; grandchildren, Jason Wilson and his wife, Christy, of Salisbury and Derek Wilson of Sophia; and great-grandchildren, Sydney and Ivey Wilson of Salisbury and Lucas Wilson of High Point.

Geraldine Lambeth
Geraldine Frances Lambeth, 64, died on Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at Thomasville Medical Center. Born April 25, 1943, in Davidson County, she was a devoted wife, loving mother and adoring grandmother.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Family Funeral Care Chapel with the Rev. Charles Stephenson officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Steven Morgan
Steven Glenn Morgan, 43, died on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008. Born Dec. 27, 1964, in Guilford County, he was the son of Charles and Ruby Rich.
Chapel service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Family Funeral Care. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. today, prior to the service.

Arnold Smith
Mr. Arnold Boyd Smith, age 82, of 411 Hillcrest Circle in Thomasville died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, in Thomasville Medical Center. He was born May 3, 1925, in Swain County, N.C. son of the late John Smith and Margaret Shook Smith. Mr. Smith was retired from the U.S. Navy with 29 years of service serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict, after his military service he worked with High Point Sprinkler retiring in 1986. He attended the Church of Tomorrow and was married Feb. 2, 1950, to Mary Elizabeth England Smith who preceded him in death June 12, 2002.
Surviving are, one daughter, Vickie Hill and Husband Phil of Thomasville; one sister, Bonnie Smith Woodruff and Husband Ted of Canton, N.C.; one grandson, Kevin Hill of Thomasville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Church of Tomorrow with the Rev. Huey Turner officiating. The interment will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the home 411 Hillcrest Circle. Mr. Smith will remain at the J. C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until placed in the church. Memorials may be directed to The Church Of Tomorrow 912 Oaklawn Ave., Thomasville, NC 27360.

Anne Mae Stamey
WINSTON-SALEM — Anne Mae Phillips Stamey, 61, of Winston-Salem, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008. Born Dec. 12, 1946, in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of Irene and John B. Phillips.
Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Wallburg Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Roy Cantrell officiating. Memorials may be made to the cemetery fund of Wallburg Baptist Church, 5341 Wallburg Road, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27107.

Chubby Tollinger
LEXINGTON — Noah Charles “Chubby” Trollinger, 76, of Enos Drive in Lexington, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Born Sept. 9, 1931, in Newport News, Va., he was a retired employee of Roadway Express, retiring after 30 years of service and after retirement, worked for Hanes Paving Company. He also served his country in the U.S. Army, a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today at Tyro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Foster officiating. Interment will follow in Old Wesley Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence. Memorials may be directed to Tyro United Methodist Church, 4484 South N.C. Highway 150, Lexington, N.C. 27295 or to Fairview United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 341, Hot Springs, N.C. 28743.
