Irene S. Blackburn, 93, of Thomasville, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, after declining health for the past year. She was a life time member and lay pastor at First Wesleyan Church in High Point.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point. Visitation will be held from 1 to 1:45 p.m. today at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home. LEXINGTON — Alan Kirby Elders, 48, of Branch Road in Lexington, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at his residence.

LEXINGTON — Brenda Kay Eason James, 58, of Old Mill Farm Road in Lexington, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Lexington Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born March 11, 1949, in Forsyth County, she was a homemaker.
Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow at Byerly Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Joan Louia on Old Mill Farm Road.

Mrs. Shirley Mae Sharpe Kennedy, 60, of 316 Culbreth Ave. in Thomasville, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008 in Thomasville Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 at 2 p.m. in Friendship Baptist Church and burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery in High Point, NC.
The family will receive friends Saturday at the church 30 minutes before the funeral service and other times at the home of her sister-in-law Joyce Kennedy Borders, 106 Browning Drive, Thomasville, N.C.

Lillian Neese
Lillian Virginia Neese, 79, of Thomasville, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at her home. Born May 30, 1928, in Pittsylvania County, Va., she was the daughter of Doc Otha and Myrtle Lee Howerton Hatcher.
Funeral service will be held at noon on Friday at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with the Rev. Tim Miller and Kevin Scoggin officiating. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.
