ASHEBORO — Rebecca Lawhorn, 74, formerly of Thomasville, died Monday, March 3, 2008, at Randolph hospital. Funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Leviner officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, N.C. 27204. Nora P. DeLapp LEXINGTON — Nora Perryman DeLapp, 82, died Monday, March 3, 2008, at Lexington Health Care. A retiree of the mapping department of Davidson County Tax Office and member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, she was preceded in death by her husband, Felix A. DeLapp, a daughter and a brother. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Dr. James Helvey and the Rev. Mike Hooper officiating. Burial will follow. Janie Hartman LEXINGTON — Jane Mize Hartman, 68, of Marshall Byerly Road, died Monday, March 3, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center. Douglas Fowler LEXINGTON — Mr. Douglas Ray “Doug” Fowler, 45, of Frank Fleer Road in Lexington, died Monday, March 3, 2008, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Mr. Fowler was born March 14, 1962, in Davidson County to Jeff Ray Fowler and Shirley Allen Fowler. He lived most of his life in Davidson County, and was a former employee of Hayworth Roll and Panel, Triad Steel and Cimarron Coach. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his mother of Thomasville; his father of Loris, S.C.; brothers, Dean Fowler and his wife Sandy, Mike Fowler and his wife Lisa, all of Lexington; sisters, Sara Noah, Tammie Lee and her husband Billy, all of Thomasville; step-brother, Dwayne Lewis of Atlanta, G.A.; and step-sisters, Lisa Lewis, Doris Jane Watts and her husband the Rev. Mack Watts, all of Loris, S.C. Graveside service and burial will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Holly Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Henry King officiating. Flynn LEXINGTON — Ethel Cook Flynn, 92, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center after a breif illness. Mrs. Flynn was born in Surry County, N.C. to Julius Cleveland Cook and Alice Highfill Cook. A retiree of the Mid State Tile Company, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Plase Flynn, and son, Alan Flynn. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral home with Dr. Michael Collier officiating. Burial will follow at Enon Baptist Church in Yadkin County. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice. Ida Myers THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Ida Marie Hedrick Myers, of Holly Grove Road, passed from Earth to heaven on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, having enjoyed a long and blessed life. The youngest of six children, she was born on July 13 to John A. and Siller Bowers Hedrick. On March 15, 1941, she married Ezwell Lee Myers, who passed away March 25, 1998. Ida enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She and Ezwell owned Myers Azalea Nursery until their retirement in 1974. In addition, Ida worked in textile and furniture industries as a sewer, retiring from Thomasville Funiture, Plant G. Together, her and Ezwell had one child, Jerry Lee Myers. Jerry and his wife JimAnna reside in Thomasville. In addition, Ida is survived by grand-daughter Janet Cain and husband Kenneth, and, grandsons, Chris and Jonathan Myers, all of whom reside in Thomasville. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in honor and memory of Ida on Friday at 3 p.m. in Emanuel Reformed Church with the Reverends Rickey Payne and George Stowe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Myers will remain at the J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be directed to the Cemetery Fund of Emanuel Reformed Church, which is located at 1170 Emanuel Church Road in Thomasville. He was born in Davie County, N.C. on March 21, 1929 to the late Ellis Howard and Lila McKnight Howard. He was a retiree of Henry Link Furniture and was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Howard Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Sandy Creek Cemetery. Janice Davis LEXINGTON — Janice Yvonne Stoker Davis, 61, of Gray Road, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at her home. She was the founder and first lady of Servant’s Heart Ministries, and was preceded in death by her father, husband, Kenneth Eugene Davis, and grandson. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jonathan Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Denton.
