LEXINGTON — Minnie Cowell Davis, 88, of Fairview Drive, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at her home.
She was born on April 17, 1920, in Davidson County to David Lowry Crowell and Florence Ada Lookabill Crowell. She was a charter member of Fairview Garden Club and Lexington Civinettes and an active member of her church.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church of Lexington, where she was a member, with Dr. Ray Howell III and the Rev. Tommy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home.

Ricky L. Foster
LEXINGTON — Ricky Leon Foster, 54, of Harris Road, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at his home after several years of declining health.
Mr. Foster was born on Jan. 5, 1954, in Forsyth County to Hege Calvin Foster and Margaret Mary Ellis Foster Ashby. He was an employee of Carolina Panel Co. and of the Baptist faith.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.

Shirlyn Simmons
DENTON — Shirlyn Loflin Simmons, 57, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at her residence.
Mrs. Simmons was born on March 17, 1951, in Davidson County, the daughter of Clifford Loflin Sr. and Beulah Hogan Loflin. She was a homemaker.
Funeral service will be held today at Liberty Fellowship Church with the Rev. James Draughn and the Rev. Michael Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be at the residence.
