THOMASVILLE — Mr. David Edwin Barker, 58, a resident of Virginia Drive in Thomasville, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at his home.
David was born on Aug. 23, 1949, in Catawba County, a son to the late Reginald Clifford Barker Sr. and Margaret Earnhardt Barker. He had worked at the String and Splinter Club in High Point and Lexington Country Club in Lexington as a chef.
Memorial service will be held at a later date and the family will receive friends at their respective homes. J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville is assisting the family.

Randall Connolly Sr.
LEXINGTON — Mr. Randall “Randy” Lee Connolly Sr., 57, a resident of Whispering Oaks Drive, died Friday, May 2, 2008, at his home.
Randy was born in Davidson County on March 15, 1951, and had lived most of his life in this area. He was a self employed mechanic before being disabled and loved being a mechanic.
Memorial service will be held at a later date and the family will receive friends at the home. J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville is assisting the family.

Seth Hollingsworth
LEXINGTON — Seth Reed Hollingsworth, 30, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Lexington Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.
Seth was born in Lexington on June 23, 1977, to Burney and Deborah Lynn Hollingsworth. He was a self-employed tree trimmer and a member of Landmark Pentecostal Holiness church.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Kenneth Marshburn officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Margaret Johnson
LEXINGTON — Margaret Elizabeth Link Johnson, 79, of Sunbridge Nursing Home of Lexington, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center Select Care.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with the Rev. Roger Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service and at other times at the home of her brother on Darr Road in Thomasville.

Robert Moody
LEXINGTON — Robert P. Moody, 79, of Sunnyside Drive, died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
Mr. Moody was born on May 3, 1929, in Davidson County, to Ransom Moody and Lona Belle Link Moody. He was retired from Stanley Furniture, attended Galilee Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103.

Mamie Myers
TRINITY — Mrs. Mamie Craver Murphy Myers, 91, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at GrayBrier Nursing and Retirement Center.
She was born on June 27, 1916, in Davidson County to Ranzo V. Craver and Clara Everhart Craver. She retired from Regan Knitting and was a member of First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Epes Murphy in January 1957, and Henry Myers on July 4, 1980.
Surviving are her sisters, Joann Bodenheimer and her husband, Jerry, of Winston-Salem, Elsie Hill, Lousie Watford and Nancy Black, all of Thomasville, Frances Moore of Lexington and Alice Miller of Trinity; nephew, Eric Craver and his wife, Connie, of Trinity and their children, Renee Joines and Derrik Craver; and a step-son, Ronald Myers of Thomasville.
Graveside service will be held today at 3 p.m. in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Jon Smith officiating. Mrs. Myers will remain at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until the hour of service.

LEXINGTON — Hilda Everhart Beam Reid, 92, of Lexington Health Care, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Lexington Health Care.

Maurice Sexton Sr.
LEXINGTON — Maurice C. Sexton Sr., 84, of Flick Circle, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Piedmont Crossing.
Mr. Sexton was born on March 6, 1924, in Wake County to James Kyle Sexton and Lela Morris Sexton. He was retired from UniJax, Inc. in Jacksonville, Fla. He was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fairmont Presbyterian Church with the Reverends Randy Hall and Mike Lamm officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park with military graveside rites by V.F.W. Post 3074.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the service and at other times at the home.

Lillie Shrewsbury
LEXINGTON — Lilllie Leonard Shrewsbury, 61, of Link circle, died Sunday, May 3, 2008, at Sunbridge of Lexington.
Lillie was born in Davidson County on Oct. 28, 1946, to Willis Lawrence Leonard and Ella Louise Jones Leonard. She was of the Baptist faith and a former employee of Lamp Crafters.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Eugene Braswell officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 Wednesday prior to the service at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

Roy Snyder
THOMASVILLE — Roy Rollen Snyder, 74, died on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Lexington Health Care.
Roy was born on March 31, 1934, in Davidson County to Roy Odell and Mary Violet Snyder. He loved to be outdoors and fishing with his grandchildren. He was a beloved husband, loving father and adoring grandfather.
Graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. today at Jackson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Joe Yates officiating.

Agnes Turner
THOMASVILLE — Agnes Virginia Snider Turner, 88, died on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Magnolia Estates Nursing Home.
She was born on Feb. 23, 1920, in Davidson County to William Dobson and Trissie Agnes Lamb Snider. She was retired from Thomasville Furniture Company after 40 years of service and was a life long member of the Baptist faith.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today in Holly Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Ray Howell IV will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Family Funeral Care in Thomasville.

Willis Turner Jr.
LEXINGTON — Mr. Willis Turner Jr., 68, of 384 Florence St., died suddenly on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at his residence.
He was born on Nov. 15, 1939, a son of Beatrice Turner Redfearn and the late Willis Turner Sr. He attended Church Street High School and was a former employee of Thomasville Furniture Industries. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandmother.
Surivivors include his mother, Mrs. Beatrice Turner Redfearn; one sister, Barbara Goodman and husband, Eugene; one niece, Demita Logan and husband, Toney; two nephews, Marc Goodman and wife, Sarah, of Thomasville and Carlos Goodman and wife, Jackie, of Winston-Salem; special friend, Vickie Kirkland; and several cousins, other relatives and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Haizlip Funeral Home, 206 Forth St. in High Point, with the Rev. Moses Caldwell officiating. Family visitation will be at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 5 to 5:30 p.m.
Haizlip Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Carl Wray
CLEMMONS, N.C. ­­— Mr. Carl Dillard Wray, 77, a resident of 201 Fryes Creek Lane in Clemmons, formerly of Thomasville, died Friday, May 2, 2008, in Forsyth Memorial Hospital.
He was born on April 10, 1931, in Davidson County, N.C., a son of the late Henry D. Wray and Ora Nicholson Wray. Mr. Wray was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was owner and operator of Wray’s Home of Thomasville. He was a member of Fair Grove United Methodist Church and also attended Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ. Mr. Wray was married to the former Bobbie Everhardt, who died Dec. 30, 1999. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Nawassa Spaul.
On May 20, 2007, he married Lucille Hanes, who survives of the home. Also surviving are children, Joy Wray Tucker and her husband, Roy, of Columbia, S.C., Toni Wray Jones and her husband, Michael, of Greensboro, Tim Wray and his wife, Shelia, of Thomasville, Penny Wray Trotter and her husband, Rick, of Thomasville and Pam Wray Sink and her husband, Steve, of Thomasville; step-daughters, Stephanie Allred and her husband, Rick, of Lexington and Valerie Osborne and her husband, Clint, of Winston-Salem; ten grandchildren, Nicole Childress and husband, Daryl, Ben Goins and wife, Emily, Alex Ball, Tiffany Jones, Shelly Jordan and husband, Nick, Regan Sink, Logan Allred, Kendal Allred, Keaton Osborne and Larsen Osborne; and three great-grandchildren, Audrey Childress, Ella Claire Goins and Benny Goins III.
Funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. in Fair Grove United Methodist Church in Thomasville with the Rev. Elise Kennedy, the Rev. Jimmy Norred and Tim Wray (Mr. Wray’s son) officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Wray will remain at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the home, 201 Fryes Creek Lane, Clemmons.
The family requests memorial be directed to the American Diabetes Association, N.C. Affiliate, 222 South Church St., Suite 366M, Charlote, N.C. 28202.
