LEXINGTON — Jackie “Jack” Dean Blevins, 57, died Saturday, June 21, 2008, in Marion, Va.
He was born in Smyth County, Va. on Feb. 1, 1951, to Williard Jack Blevins and Lessie Anderson Blevins. He was a skilled dry wall professional, which was a family trade. He was a simple man and was loved by all who knew him, especially his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.
Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Avery Varnadore officiating. Burial will follow.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Davidson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to Jacklyn Sink, 2824 Helmstetler Road, Lexington, N.C. 27295.

Elwood Craver
LEXINGTON — Elwood Craver, 75, of Fowler Ave., died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Craver was born on Oct. 18, 1932, in Davidson County to Fred Craver and Annabel Thompson Craver. He was retired from the City of Lexington.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Hepler officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and other times at the home.

Doris Gooch
ARCHDALE — Mrs. Doris Proctor Gooch, 85, of Archdale died Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Westwood Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on Feb. 13, 1923 in High Point. Mrs. Gooch was a daughter of the late William H. and Fallie Jane Proctor. She was a member of Pilot View Baptist Church until declining health prevented her attendance. She graduated from High Point High School and retired from Maro Hosiery in Thomasville. On December 23, 1944 she married Lewis Gooch who preceded her in death on April 18, 2008. Also preceding her in death were four sisters: Mrs. James (Helen) Baucom of Baltimore, Md, Mrs. Felix (Bessie) Webb of High Point, Mrs. Daylon (Eunice) Parrish of Baltimore, Md and Mrs. George (Nadine) Rowland of High Point; and a brother L.T. Proctor of High Point.
Mrs. Gooch is survived by two sons, Ronald Gooch and wife, Fredia, of Archdale, and Larry Gooch and wife, Lori, of Martinsville, Va.; and a granddaughter, Amanda “Mandy” Gooch of Archdale.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale officiated by the Rev. Bob Summey, the Rev. Ken Evans and the Rev. J.C. Alley. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Ronald and Fredia Gooch.
The family would like to thank the staff at Westwood Health and Rehabilitation Center for the special care they gave to our mother.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to either Pilot View Baptist Church: 7173 Prospect Church Rd., Thomasville, N.C. 27360; or to Hospice of Randolph County: PO Box 9, Asheboro, N.C. 27204-0009.

Randall Haltom
LEXINGTON — Mr. Randall Eugene Haltom, 50, a resident of 138 Jolly Road, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Thomasville Medical Center.
He was born in Davidson County on Feb. 28, 1958, to Norman Eugene and Vivian Small Haltom. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a truck driver for Sun Delivery Service. He was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Roswick officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, 138 Jolly Road in Lexington.

Clarence Hamlett
DENON — Clarence James “Jimmy” Hamlett, 59, of Russell Road, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Thomasville Medical Center.
Mr. Hamlett was born on July 16, 1948 in Caswell County to Cletus James Hamlett and Maxine Wilson Hamlett. He had previously worked at Council Furniture.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev, Wade Lomax officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
The family will see friends at the residence of Michael and Tammy Hulin on N. Main St. in Denton.

L.C. Hicks Sr.
THOMASVILLE — Mr. L.C. Hicks Sr., 81, a resident of U.S. Highway 64 East, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, in Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
He was born on April 21, 1927, in Randolph County, a son of the late Carl Lee Hicks and Viola Kinley Hicks. He was a self-employed truck driver and loved farming and gardening. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II.
Funral service will be held today at 11 a.m. in J.C.Green & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Dr. John Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by the Ranolph County Honor Guard.
