Chupakhin, Everhart named TMS Band Students of the Month

Sam Everhart and Gleb Chupakhin have been named Thomasville Middle School Band Students of the Month for December and January, respectively.
Chupakhin, a seventh-grader, has played trombone for two years. He is a member of the seventh-grade concert band and is also a guitarist in the TMS Jazz Band. He was selected for the 2005 Davidson All-County Band and also for the 2006 Northwest All-District Band.
He is an honor-roll student at TMS and an active participant in the YMCA Soccer Program. He said he enjoys band for “playing together with friends and making music.”
Chupakhin is the son of Keith and Varvara Karcher.
Everhart is an eighth-grader who has played the trumpet for three years. He was recently selected for the 2005 Davidson All-County Band and has been selected as a Band Student of the Month for three years.
Everhart has also received the “Outstanding Band Member Award” for the past two years, and was a member of the Youth Piedmont Honor Band as a sixth-grader. He is an “A” Honor Roll student, and was a member of the TMS championship football team.
Everhart is a member of Heidelberg United Church of Christ. He is also a member of Boy Scout Troop No. 121 where he holds the rank of First Class Scout.
He said he enjoys band because, “It allows me to express myself through music, and it’s fun to do!”
He is the son of Michael and Diedra Everhart.
